Where to Stay in Cannes: Maison Carla Rosa Hotel Review

Maison Carla Rosa

First of all, a hotel review! I haven’t written a review of a hotel since 2018 but I couldn’t resist sharing this little charming residence that is the ultimate home from home if you are visiting Cannes. Second of all. Did I manifest this perfect pink abode from my wildest dreams?

From the dazzling pearlescent pool with its mermaid-esque tiles to the tropical palm trees that flank the picturesque terrace, when my eyes settled on the complimentary welcome wine I was genuinely concerned that I was actually having some kind of psychotic break and my mind was playing tricks on me. It was all too good to be true. Was I dreaming? Or had I just checked into paradise?

I wanted to experience the charm and elegance of the Cote D-Azur and casual Californian landscapes without the 10-hour flight and the jetlag and Maison Carla Rosa got the memo. Enchanting and retro all at the same time, I think this hotel might be my spirit animal.

The apartments themselves are a delight. Just minutes away from the main boulevard in Cannes, you are nicely positioned stage left of the action. So in terms of location, it’s practically perfect but it’s also a girl’s dream. Everything from the decor to the tech is designed to wrap you up in luxury.

Here are ten reasons why I love it.

  1. Location, location, location. It’s an arm’s stretch away from an artisan French bakery, the beach, the sparkling sea and all of the best bars, beach clubs and restaurants in Cannes.

2. The whole residence is a do not disturb sign. Luxuries appear before your eyes without a single staff member materialising, the service borders on being telepathic and everything you could ever want and need is on hand.

3. Self-check in but make it therapeutic. Miraculously, self-check-in is a breeze. Gate codes land in your phone as if by magic 5 hours before arrival.

4. The room is an Aladdin’s cave of wonderful welcome items from fresh fruit to local wine to water and sodas. There is no staffed reception (cue horror movie vibe) but with 24/7 security staff, you feel totally at ease. You’re a million miles away from everyone but in a great way.

5. There’s thoughtful and unexpected luxuries throughout. From the cosy robes to the cloud-like slippers and beach towels, nothing is left to chance.

6. Free, speedy wifi, you will have no problem staying connected here.

7. The stocked mini bar. It has coke zero and orange juice.

8. Your private terrace with stunning views.

9. It was VERY affordable for Cannes. If you are only staying a few nights in Cannes, it pays to get a hotel that is well-located and luxurious and at £200 per night we were happy considering what we saved getting taxis.

10. The bathroom is a tranquil oasis, a freestanding bath competes for attention but is outsparkled by a gold-tiled rain shower.

Did I mention it’s PINK? There are endless photo ops here, there is no bad backdrop. Have you stayed at Maison Carla Rosa?
