*Gifted treatment.
Hello hello, today I just wanted to jump on here and tell you all about this incredible new treatment I tried a couple of weeks ago at my favourite beauty clinic, Kosmetico. If there is any procedure that is worth shouting about, Kim and her team provide it and she is the only woman on Earth who I will trust with my face (see my Microblading journey here). I was invited to review the much talked about HydraFacial and after leaning that somewhere in the world a HydraFacial is being performed every 15 seconds, I can tell you that my face was incredibly excited. Apart from this fact, I knew little else about the procedure, but judging from everyone else’s reaction when I told them my plans for the day, I was about to have a really nice time.
Now, if you know me, you will know that I love a beauty treatment, a salon visit, a spa day or any kind of self-care activity and facials are up there at the very top of the list of my favourite things. For one, as a mum, when do you ever just get to take an hour to yourself without feeling like you have to be doing/achieving/completing something? With a facial treatment, you can’t look at your phone, you can’t fold the laundry or batch cook (who am I kidding) or write an article, you have no choice but to relax. So, here’s my honest review of the HydraFacial, what it costs, the downtime, the process and of course, the results and why you need it in your life.
What Exactly is a HydraFacial?
Ok, so first up this is no ordinary facial. It’s done with a medical-grade hydradermabrasion device and there are 7 different stages. It cleanses the skin and essentially vacuums out the gunk but rather than simply remove the impurities, it infuses the cleansed skin with potent serums that plump, hydrate and brighten.
The process:
Lymphatic drainage techniques followed by a deep cleanse and exfoliation. A glycolic peel is then applied infused with a brightening agent. Did I mention there are extractions? Wait until you see what came out. Skin hydration and LED Light therapy complete the treatment.
How Much is it?
Are you sat down? It’s £120 for a single treatment but you can save £20 per treatment if you book a six month plan where you have one per month. Do I think it’s worth the cost? One hundred percent yes. It’s pricy there’s no denying that but more and more people are investing in skincare and there is no greater investment if you ask me. This treatment does for your face what a fitness boot camp does for your body. It’s an intensive kickstart that is the kick up the ass your skin needs to reboot your skincare regimen and puts you on a path to a better complexion.
Is there any Downtime?
Zero. After the treatment, I noticed minimal redness but nothing other than an insanely dewy glow. I also found that none of the stages were painful (the sensation is similar to a microdermabrasion peel if you’ve ever tried one). I actually found most of it really relaxing.
Who is it for?
The HydraFacial is great for an array of skin-related issues from dryness to acne. It is also suitable for all ages. The best part is it can be customised to your individual skin needs. This means tailored serum medleys, different concentrations of acids and customized strengths of peel.
My Results
Ok, what we’re all here for. The Results. Because let’s face it if we’re shelling out £120 we want more than a subtle glowy sheen. I was very impressed with my results but equally mortified by the gunk that was vacuumed from my pores.
The before and afters are actually insane. First of all, I haven’t looked closely at my skin since I was pregnant, it’s funny how having to keep a small human happy means you no longer glance at your own face so imagine my surprise when I realised that I have a blackhead situ on my nose and my chin that is quite frankly out of control. Let’s not talk about the wrinkles that have taken up residence on my forehead and around my eyes. However, the after photos show huge improvements to these issues in just one-hour session. My skin felt clean in a way it hadn’t felt in years. It was smooth as a baby’s and the glow was quite frankly envy-inducing. LOOK what came out of my pores.
Where Can I Book One?
Warning. Great skin is addictive and so I’m probably going to book in for this treatment seasonally, so four times a year to give my skin the reboot it needs but once per month is the usual recommendation. Book yours today at Kosmetico and mention my blog when booking for a little discount.
