What Are We Watching? Five Shows that Changed My Brain Chemistry

Maybe you’re 4 weeks into the summer holidays and you need a show to decompress to or maybe you’re recovering from the mummy makeover you always wanted. These five shows changed my brain chemistry forever. You know those shows that you wish you could watch again for the first time? If you haven’t seen one of these shows, I’m officially jealous.

So. What are we watching?

Tell Me Lies

This show is toxic and one I’ve re-watched more than once. It’s like Dawson’s Creek, if Joey hated Dawson and Pacey harboured a crush on his Mum. No friendship is safe and neither our their secrets. Dark and Twisty, this is one of the rare shows that gets better the more you watch it. PSSSST They are currently making a season 3.

Nine Perfect Strangers

Because Nicole Kidman is everything but also so is Melissa McCarthy. Nine perfect strangers come together at the strangest wellness retreat in existence, each with their own trauma. Chaos ensues. The forest scene is WILD and I had to pause it to regroup.

White Lotus 1 and 2

Because you will somehow relate to every cast member. Yes, even the coked-up hotel manager. It’s so monotonous in parts it’s actually boring but that’s what makes it so true to life. Dark comedy lovers will adore this. Oh. And Stiffler’s mom is iconic. Need more? Theo James. Theo James. Theo James.

We are Liars

This has all the elements of a wholesome Americanised show built on a solid foundation of rich person problems but it will keep you guessing until the very last minute. A gorgeously easy binge-watch, Cadance is hypnotically beautiful so points if you even manage to concentrate on the plot. The last episode will destroy you. Lemon hunt anyone?

Big Little Lies

Like Desperate Housewives on crack, this is a who’s who of powerful women whose seamingly perfect lies crack in front of your very eyes. Brave statement but this is my favourite character that Reese Witherspoon has ever played and Nicole Kidman is everything and more.
