Parenting is such a personal thing, so you won’t find post after post about baby essentials on my blog. When I was pregnant I remember finding those exhaustive guides overwhelming and much preferred those recommendations from friends about the must-have item that they couldn’t do without.
So, here’s mine. The Voksi Poncho. A lovely little recommendation designed to make your life easier as a mum. Jolie was an October baby and I remember fretting most about what she wore on winter walks in her pram and of course the car seat. I took on board the thousands of warnings about what not to wear in the car seat (no shiny puffer coats, she’ll slip right out!) but was struggling to find any info on what she could wear. So, winter is here again and thanks to Voksi, I have the perfect thing.
Voksi is a Scandinavian company that focuses on practical items for babies and toddlers that are crafted from premium quality materials. They’ve designed a super cute, super clever little poncho that is specifically designed to keep toddlers warm and cosy in the car without compromising safety. Hallelujah!
So, today we went for a trip to the park and we gave our poncho a spin. Jolie hasn’t worn a poncho before. So I had questions. Would it be practical enough to play in outside? Would it be cosy enough for the car? Would she notice it wasn’t like her usual jackets? The armholes make it really easy to move in and didn’t restrict us as we fed the ducks and foraged for our favourite leaves. Judging from the car nap on our return, I’m guessing it was sufficiently cosy.
From a parent point of view, I really like the design, it’s a neutral shade so it looks cute thrown over most outfits and it has a reversible design with pretty drawings on should you want to mix it up a bit. It’s made from soft and quilted cotton so it’s basically like a big comfy blanket. You can buy yours online here.
