Hello, hello. Today I’m talking about how to make the most of your box room with a few little luxury updates. It’s been a minute since my last interiors style post but after making a few changes to the smallest room in my house, I’m inspired to give you some tips on how to make a box room your best room. For many people, box rooms are left till last and by the time you’ve got around to thinking how to style it, you’ve kind of run out of steam. I know how easily a small room can become a clutter magnet or a dumping ground for all those bits and bobs that don’t have a home so get ready to de-clutter and decorate.
Focus on Organisation with a Fitted Sliding Wardrobe
If your box room is a bedroom, a space-saving wardrobe will change your life. Storage is the key to making the most of your teeniest room. Not only does a design like this take up minimum space, but you can also opt for a mirrored sliding door panels which not only adds a functional touch but mirrored surfaces make a small space seem bigger. Box rooms often have angled corners and slanting ceilings and a fitted wardrobe can slot into even the most awkward of room designs. Perhaps your box room could be the dressing room of dreams? A fitted wardrobe is a must to keep clutter at bay and Hammonds have an enviable selection whether you’ve got your eye on matte or mirrored wardrobes.
Add Functionality and Style with Floating Shelves
You might be short on floor space but even the smallest box room has wall space for days. Whether you want to create a space at home to work in or you want to create a gorgeous guest room, shelves are your friend. Wall-mounted floating shelves offer the perfect place to show off your fancy books, your handbag collection or even your endless supply of makeup brushes! Place 3 shelves in a row vertically and showcase your prettiest bits and bobs.
White White White and a pop of colour
One way to make the most of a small room is to turn it into a sanctuary, a place to go when you want to relax and regroup. Cosy reading nooks, a meditation station or a corner desk can all add a sense of purpose to an under-utilised room. We all know that white has the ability to open up a small room and create the illusion of space but an all-white room is also incredibly relaxing. Add a pop of colour with a vision board or display some energy-boosting crystals to add ambience and interest.
Do you have a box room at home? How would you make it your best room?
