Bathtub of dreams at Rudding Park…
Hello lovely readers, if you’ve been following my Insta-stories you will know I’ve just got back from Dubai and I’m in a, I need a holiday to recover from my holiday kind of mood. Usually, I use the flight home as a chance to completely switch off, relax and unwind, reflect and enjoy a good book, I’d even saved this one for my flight home as it has some of the most beautiful words I’ve ever read but only an hour into our flight and the pilot announced we would have to turn back to Dubai airport (insert left filange joke here) which sparked a 7 hour delay which meant we would have been travelling for 24 hours by the time our plane finally hit the runway in Manchester. Less than relaxing. My other half had the week off so we checked straight into Rudding Park to spend the spa vouchers that we received for Christmas. The timing was incredible. Que 24 hours of incredible food, naps, saunas, steam rooms, bubble baths, massages and cucumber flavoured water. Let me tell you, the new spa is INCREDIBLE.
I love holidays but I don’t love washing and blow-drying my hair every day, wearing a full face of makeup every night and walking in heels all the time. I was genuinely excited to get my comfiest clothes on, put my hair up and go makeup free for a while. Also, after 84 magnums of wine, going to a spa is the perfect place to detox your body and rest your mind. I was over the moon to be somewhere where it’s acceptable to roam around in your robe and slippers. It was the perfect excuse to take my new Celtic & Co slippers for a spin. If you are in the market for a new pair, I couldn’t recommend them more. The team kindly sent me a pair of their cosy sheepskin slippers (I chose the cutest knitted pair in a pebble shade) and I popped them straight in my bag to take with me. I can’t live without my slippers, I hate being cold and my dog chewed the pom poms off my last pair, so I was very excited to receive a shiny new pair that looked really hardwearing without any fiddly bits for my dog to chew.
They are the perfect complement to my silk PJs, but they also look really nice with jeans and a top around the house, I love them because they kind of look like boots you could wear outside and they are super comfy. I’ve taken slippers on a flight and to my friend’s house before but I’ve never taken my slippers on a spa break, but I lived for the robe, towel turban and slippers combo I sported for 24 hours. Just what I needed.
So, just in case you have spotted the new Rudding Park spa and are wondering whether to splash out on a day there, you absolutely should. The head and foot massage I had was out of this world and the scenery is stunning. It’s the ideal place to just be. Everything is super fancy from the walk-in outdoor pool to the luxury steam room and heated beds. Yes, it’s expensive but worth every penny. I have never stayed over before despite visiting Rudding Park all the time for lunch and the rooms are really modern with Molton Brown toiletries, (love hotel minis) great room snacks and 2 restaurants on site. We had dinner in the Clocktower restaurant and sat in the conservatory which is lovely. If you need a little me time, get booked in!
