The Personal Barber Subscription Box available here.
With Father’s Day just around the corner, you’ll be pleased to know that I’ve found the perfect gift for even the fussiest of fathers. So what does every Dad want this Father’s Day? A traditional shave with a twist of course! Read on and spoil him with a subscription box from The Personal Barber.
Now you know I’m a huge fan of subscription boxes and the joy that comes with finding a new product that quickly finds a place in your everyday routine. So, when The Personal Barber got in touch to see if my other half would like to review their quite frankly awesome shaving subscription, I was quite excited on his behalf. Rather than reaching for the same old socks and ties this year, I’ve found the ultimate Father’s Day gift so you can not only spoil him but also surprise him. A professional old school shave is a must for any man and this box will ensure he gets a professional shave every time. The Personal Barber sent a box for my other half to review and it’s safe to say he was suitably impressed. The first box includes a shiny safety razor and lots of posh shaving goodies that are guaranteed to add a little luxury to his day and his bathroom cabinet. Whether your dad likes a traditional wet shave or he is new to the experience, this subscription box provides everything from premium shaving soaps to blades and brushes.
So, first up was the pre-shave cream that came in attractive green and white packaging. My husband was really intrigued by the pre-shave cream as he expressed that he would never have invested in a pre-shave product in the past as he didn’t think adding another step to his shaving routine was necessary but was pleased with the consistency and aroma. The Proraso brand is Italian and it has a menthol aroma that is quite powerful but not overwhelming.
The welcome box features a single blade razor and two sets of blades by two different brands. This was his first time using a single blade razor so naturally it was a little more time consuming. The handle of the razor was also a lot shorter that his usual model but he loved the close shave it provided. The brush is a particularly nice addition to the box and something that will now feature in his daily shaving routine. His favourite product by far was the shaving cream for sensitive skin by Taylor of Old Bond Street. My husband hadn’t heard of any of the brands featured in the subscription box but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products and the value for money.
The first box contains the finest quality razor, brush, blades, soap and a soft towel. Each box after that is designed to spice up his shaving experience further with exotic shaving soaps, oils and accessories from across the globe. Every box is unique and comes with its own guide to help him get the best out of each product. The best bit? A professional shave is delivered direct to his door each month and delivery is free. You can take a peek at the contents of previous subscriptions boxes here.
The Personal Barber subscription box is £24.95 per month on a rolling basis that drops down to £17.95 per month for a pre-paid 12 month subscription. If there was a shaving subscription for women, I’d love having all those essentials delivered to my door as I’m really quite rubbish at topping up my stash of razors and gels.
