Last week was a pretty crazy week for blog commitments and events and it all kicked off rather excitedly with the VQ Leeds blogger event. The Victoria Quarter is one of my favourite shopping spots in Leeds so I was more than a little bit excited to receive an invite to an exclusive tour highlighting everything from this season’s hottest fashion picks to the newest eateries. The evening started with a visit to Vivienne Westwood with a handful of lovely bloggers, my fave Sarah from Sarah x Sarah, the lovely Ally from Digital Diva and the gorgeous Nicol from Yuk Lui Style, where we were treated to a grand tour of the three-floored store and given an insight to the key pieces of the season.
I’ve visited the Victoria Quarter hundreds of times and I never even knew this store had more than one floor! It just shows that a place can quite literally be on your doorstep and there are still new things to discover.
After building up a wish list of Vivienne Westwood shoes and bags as long as my arm, we then moved on to Space NK where we were treated to champagne and makeovers. We gathered upstairs in the most instagrammable room I’ve ever seen that was filled with beautiful white flowers and scented with Diptyque candles, oh and the best lighting I’ve ever seen. We were shown some of the latest beauty offerings from By Terry (a brand I’m now firmly obsessed with) and given a sneak peak of the upcoming products that were yet to be released. The staff who work at Space NK are brimming with beauty knowledge and were happy to answer all of our questions about contouring, strobing and serums.
I booked an appointment to have my makeup done for the weekend ahead (did you know you can book in for this and have your makeup done for free?) and made a mental list of all the products I was going to buy on my return (which turned out to be lots of By Terry products that I’ll review in a future post). We left with goodie bags in hand and skipped off to Polpo, the stunning new restaurant on Harvey Nichols’ fourth floor which I have to say is a welcome addition to one of my all time favourite stores.
After being ill for a week and losing 4lbs I opted for carbs, carbs and wait for it… more carbs! Polpo is basically a magical place to eat in my opinion as you get to order a little bit of this and a little bit of that or in my case cheese and bread in various different forms. I ordered cheese croquettes and goats cheese bruschetta topped with roasted grapes and toasted walnuts which was delicious if not a little over jealous with the grapes.
We ordered a token zucchini and parmesan salad to cancel out the carb overload. A lot of the other ladies ordered the mini pizzettas that looked incredible so my advice is to order lots of different things and share to avoid a major case of food envy. Ten points if you spotted the nutella pizzetta on the menu above, yes I will be making a return visit just to try this out. The ambiance is so different to the bright cartoon like space that was Yo Sushi and I have to say I love it, even if it is an Aladdin’s cave of carbs.
A big thank you to the lovely Tristen and VQ Leeds for hosting the blogger event. You may have seen bits of this event if you follow me on Snapchat. Missed it? My username is RemieLund, add me to keep up to date with my antics!
Have you tried Polpo yet?
This sounds and looks like an amazing event.. 🙂
Nothing wrong with carbs, everyone needs them. :p

I totally agree. The more carbs the better! x
