I’m a huge fan of mail so as you can imagine how giddy I was when the very first beauty box came out. However, after three months worth of samples landed on my desk, I was less than impressed. When Box De Lux got in touch and asked if I wanted to review one of their boxes I was hesitant but the luxury aspect of the box had me hooked.
I felt the familiar jolt of excitement as a mystery box landed on my desk and my first thought was how handy the box would be when I had used up all of the contents. One of favourite things to do is to disguise presents for friends and family and these deep boxes would be perfect. It would also be a great place to store your nail polishes or make up brushes. Anyhoo, back to the box. I was ready to see samples, teeny tiny samples of non descript products but inside was everything I actually need to get ready for my holiday.
Green tea, nude nail polishes, sun protection and a revitalising lash treatment. I was thrilled to find edible items in the box that wouldn’t ruin my diet. I’d seen the Nakd bars in the shops but never tried one and I can confirm that the cocoa crunch was exceptionally good. There was a bag of Propper Corn Pop Corn but it was inhaled before I took a photo.
The Verdict…
I found the box really quite convenient and clever. It’s almost like it read my mind and realized I needed a bit of a detox and some handy snacks to stop me reaching for the chocolate. There is one aspect of the box that didn’t quite meet my expectations. Box De Lux’s selling point is the luxury aspect and if you are expecting Crème De La Mer mini’s, Bobbi Brown testers or even a little La Prarie, you will be disappointed. While I love nudes, I have never heard of Aden Cosmetics but I guess part of the process is discovering new brands. If you ask me, Box De Lux is a little light on luxury but it does make your work day more fun especially if you have forgotten snacks. Have you tried Box De Lux? Want to join in on the fun? You will have to do a review of revitalash as I’m really curious to know if it does actually work. I’ve been umming and ahhing over getting ash serum stuff for ages. Let me know if you do 🙂 x
