Making lists, cashmere blankets and snow boots, just a few things I’m loving in January. Getting up in what can only be described as the middle of the night to do switch kicks? Not so much. Ladies, meet Shaun T, my new personal trainer for the next 60 days. Shaun is the creator of the Insanity workout which I will be doing every day until my holiday. As some of you may already know in 80 days I will be landing in Vegas with only a few teeny tiny triangle bikinis and a couple of bodycon dresses in my Lulu Guinness carry on. Let the Insanity workout training begin!
Need some gymspiration? The great thing about Shaun’s workout out is it’s only 40 mins meaning I can fit it in no matter how much I try to claim I don’t have the time. Not many things will get me out of bed before my usual alarm but it turns out this man’s abs make 5.30 am workouts that little bit easier. Although, he really needs to stop flirting with me so blatantly during those power jumps, it’s really starting to get awkward now.
This workout is short BUT it isn’t called the insanity workout because it’s fun or easy. Like any horrific workout program you have to complete a fit test to begin with and record your results. This may sound like fun but I can assure you it isn’t and yes it is quite normal to want to get into bed and pretend you have never heard of the Insanity workout when the man push ups begin. If you really want to push yourself for the fit test have your other half count your reps or film it for a you tube video for your blog.
My first fit test stats:
Scissor Kicks-34 on each leg
Power Jacks-45
Power Knees-72
Power Jumps-21
Globe Jumps 8 sets
Suicide Jumps-9
Push Up Jacks-10
Low Plank Oblique 32
You do the fitness test every 2 weeks and record any progress.
My fitness goals:
1) Look like Jessica Alba in a bikini (too much?)
2) Work out 6 days a week
3) Lose a pound a week
Have you tried the Insanity Fit Test? Have you stuck to the six day a week workouts? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. x
GO GIRL!! I was so tempted to try this out,you@ll have to keep us posted. And just remind me, your carry on has space for me in rite!!!?

Haha, love this post! I’ve watched those commercials at stupid o’clock (while up with a baby) thinking, really? Do they work?! So look forward to you trialing it for me! :p
The 5:30am wake up and even exercise wouldn’t be a prob to me, this is a normal ‘Bootcamp’ time for me. However, the prospect of making myself get up at this time to exercise at home, in my living room, near the kitchen, where I could make a lovely cuppa’ tea and or even a hot chocolate if it’s cold, and with a rather welcoming sofa that I could just sit on to rest for 2 minutes (40 minutes).. It just might not work.
Good Luck! Look forward to the updates. 🙂
