My favourite season has arrived. Scorpio season. Not only do we have Halloween and pumpkin picking to get excited about, but it’s also my daughter’s fifth birthday which means parties galore. We spent the weekend getting into the full swing of autumnal activities and now the weather has actually decided to accurately portray October’s usual chill, I’ve finally done a wardrobe switch, swapping out Jolie’s summer dresses for cosy coats and weatherproof items. Tong Garden Centre is actually pretty cool for birthday parties by the way (if you’ve never been) as it has a whole outside area with playhouses, a zip wire and a giant trampoline. The soft play section is a little chaotic but the seperate birthday rooms make feeding your party people pretty easy.
This weekend it just so happened to have a pumpkin patch which was fun as I haven’t booked anywhere specially this year. I love this time of year because Halloween decorations double up as party decor and our house is all spooky and festive. Also, shout out to all the parents like me who are painting their pumpkins this year instead of almost losing a finger carving them. Once you know you can sprinkle glitter and apply paint and stickers, a whole new chapter of your life begins.
Let me just take a minute to talk you through this little party look. So, Primark has some super cute party dresses this year and because it’s an outdoor party with lots of climbing, Sketchers won over our usual glittery party shoes. The light up ones are on Jolie’s birthday list. Our new waterproof raincoat kindly gifted by Lighthouse Clothing was an absolute win for keeping her warm without ruining our pink party outfit theme. This is the Heidi coat in blush pink and it has a rubberised exterior that means it’s super easy to wipe clean while being shower proof and wind proof. Pockets are perfect to store coins for game machines at parties or snacks. I love the nautical lining on the hood and the blue buttons. Super cute. They also do it in a lilac shade. It retails for £36.99.
Meanwhile, I rocked up in the same Primark leggings from 1945. Isn’t that always the way?
