I recently took a mother-daughter trip to London and we spent the day marveling at the festive decor and hopping around some of the city’s fanciest hotels and boutiques. We had so much fun that we decided to make it an annual tradition! So, I thought I’d share with you the itinerary and create a little luxe guide to London for you to use during the festive season!
Getting there
If you’re lucky enough to have London on your doorstep then I’m very jealous but if like me, you’re a train ride away, make the most of your journey and upgrade your ticket so you can arrive in comfort. Alternatively, make your economy journey a little more bougie with a luxury train picnic, mini bottles of champers, strawberries and pain au chocolate. Don’t forget to pack flasks of hot chocolate with marshmallows to keep you toasty and warm.
Shopping on Bond Street
First stop? Bond Street where you can find all of the high-end boutiques from Burberry to Cartier. All of the shops look absolutely magical at Christmas so even if you’re just window shopping, you’re in for a treat! Always pop into Dior as they serve you champagne and macaroons as you shop! Just saying!
Get Gifts at Harrods
Did you even go to London if you didn’t go to Harrods? If you haven’t yet ticked off your Christmas shopping, this is the perfect place to start. Here you can find everything for everyone on your list and perhaps a little treat for yourself! Your secret is safe with me!
Lunch at Scotts
If all the shopping has made you hungry, pop into London’s best seafood restaurant in the heart of Mayfair. Here you can order the city’s finest Lobster Bisque not forgetting the legendary Bakewell tart. Other fabulously festive lunch options include The Ivy Chelsea Garden and of course The Ritz.
Hotel Hopping
When the weather is cold, there’s nothing better than enjoying a hot toddy in front of a real fire and you’ll find this perfect scenario waiting for you in London’s finest hotels. The hotels go all out when it comes to Christmas trees so be prepared for some spectacular sights. Start at The Connaught and have a cocktail in their 1920s style hotel bar. Then enjoy a glass of champagne or afternoon tea in the Langham. Their tree display is stunning!
Getting Around
A luxe itinerary in easy to create but have you thought about how you are going to get around London in style? If navigating the tube or walking in the cold and rain isn’t for you, why not push the boat out and use a chauffeur service? If you drive a luxury vehicle at home, it makes sense that you would want the same level of comfort and luxury when visiting a new city for the day and if you don’t, using a luxury London Chauffeur service is the ultimate treat! Did you know you can get a chauffeur-driven Range Rover Autobiography to get from A to B while you’re in town? If you want to be a VIP for the day, check out London Luxury Chauffeuring and add a touch of luxe to your London trip. It’s the perfect way to recharge as you travel from one place to the next. You can take advantage of WiFi, bottled water, massage seats, the daily newspaper and a touch screen tablet! Fancy huh?
