The Steaming Snowman at Harvey Nichols (happiness in a cup).
Ooh, it’s nearly Christmas and there are so many things I’ve been loving lately that this happy list is fit to burst! Here are a few things that are making me happy this month. Grab a mince pie and let’s get started.
Perfect Seven Supplements
I’m one of those people who always gets a cold in the winter so recently I’ve stepped up my supplement game. I’ve restocked my supplement collection with Vitamin D tablets to trick my body into thinking it is getting some sun even if it gets dark only a little after 3pm during the winter months. I also got sent some of the Seven Seas Perfect Seven supplements that I’ve been taking religiously. They have all of the benefits of marine oils but they also address 7 key needs from hair, nails and skin to heart, brain and vision. Perfect for those who want a multitasking supplement instead of lots of bottles taking up space in their cabinets.
Goodness on the go
In the month of December, I usually go day to day chain eating Cadbury’s roses only breaking the chain to sip on a mulled wine or a flute of bubbles. However, if I still want to fit into my jeans come January, I need to get my diet in check any way I can. This month I’ve been loving these handy snack packets from The Real Handful. I was sent a pack to review and now I pick up a few packs in Boots when I’m in there picking up a few bits spending all my money on beauty essentials. They are packed with healthy things but also have chunks of dark chocolate. Delish!
Buff Body Oils
I do a whole lot more pampering in Winter, preferring long leisurely baths rather than speedy showers. My latest addition to my nightly pampering routine are these lovely little body oils from Buff (the post workout blend is my favourite). I discovered Buff back in August and their body scrubs have been in regular rotation ever since. Like the scrubs, there is an oil for morning, night, post workout and romantic blends should you wish to treat your other half to a lovely massage.
The Hedonist Project
Our favourite festive haunt at the moment is the Hedonist Project. This seasonal concept bar is the perfect place to grab a cocktail and a goats cheese toastie in your winter woolies. The current concept is a winter mountain lodge and what better place to feel all cosy this Christmas than in your very own alpine hideaway? Previously a surf shack, The Hedonist Project has been transformed and is currently channeling some major apres ski vibes. It’s cosy, it’s casual and it’s cocktail game is strong. Head down to experience it in all its glory before the new concept arrives in 2017.
Sunday Brunch at Banyan
Sunday brunch is one of my favourite weekly activities and I’ve found an absolute corker. Nappa on Street Lane has recently been refurbished and rebranded as a Banyan and it has become our favourite new brunch spot. They have the best avocado on toast and their pancakes are quite frankly epic.
Brie and Cranberry Tartlets from M & S (5499 tartlets consumed so far)
I’ve been stockpiling M & S party food in preparation for Christmas festivities and I’m in danger of turning into a brie and cranberry parcel. By the time January arrives, body is usually 90% cheese and 10% prosecco but I seem to have started even earlier this year treating party food as present wrapping fuel.
Steaming Snowmen at Harvey Nichols
I’ve left the most calorific thing until last. The steaming snowman is basically the best drink that will pass your lips this Christmas. It’s basically Baileys and cream with chocolate sprinkles. AKA heaven. This little gem isn’t on the menu this year but if you ask nicely they will whip one up for you. You’re welcome.
The Elizabeth Grant Range at Ideal World
Of course, there have been a few new additions to my skincare regime but by far my favourite is the Green Power C collection from Elizabeth Grant. The lovely Chloe from Lady Writes generously sent me these products when she saw on Snapchat that I’d ran out of my fave Elizabeth Grant product. What a BABE. This face serum has replaced my all time fave bare minerals one as this one cleanses, nourishes, protects and reduces skin stress from dehydration which lets face it, we all need around the festive season. The day cream is really thick and luxurious.
What’s making you happy this week?
