Yes, I’m eating out again! This past few weeks, I’ve barely eaten a single meal at home but this means I can create some tempting foodie posts for my wonderful readers (any excuse!). Today I have a lovely little post about one of Huddersfield’s hidden gems, Epicure Bar and Kitchen. Epicure means a person who enjoys fine food and drink btw in case you were wondering. This venture is headed up by one of our good friends and we often make the journey from Leeds with no complaints just to get our mitts on his unbeatable salted caramel brownies. Previously known as the Coffee Kabin, this eatery has made the jump from cosy coffee shop to a full blown bar and kitchen just in time for the winter season and we celebrated the occasion with a press night. On the menu, you will find everything you want during the colder months, hearty pumpkin soup, bubble and squeak and some of the best burgers in the city. It’s the kind of food that makes you instantly snuggle into your chair and go oooooooh. Grab some friends and make a night of it.
When it came to starters, we ordered up a storm. The scotch eggs made quite an impact followed by a sprinkling of breads, olives, charcuterie platters and warming wintery soups. The presentation of every dish is really quite impressive and reflects the thought and attention to detail that goes into each one.
Coaxing me out of my cosy blanket is quite the task during the winter months but the promise of Epicure Bar and Kitchen’s bubble and squeak with a side of halloumi and perfectly poached eggs will do it. I could have eaten it all again. It’s the perfect venue to spend a Friday or Saturday night in, when hours slip by unnoticed and memories are made. Take my word for it, the salted caramel brownies are essential to life. Wear your stretchiest pants and fill your boots!
If you love fine food, pop over to the Epicure Bar and Kitchen Twitter and show them some love.
