Skincare is one of my favourite things to shop for and where most of my money goes but what can I say, I like my money where I can see it. It’s been about 4876 years since I wrote a beauty post so I was super excited to sit down and share with you some of what I consider to be ultimate beauty game changers. There is no place for mediocre beauty buys here, just *what did I ever do without you* products that you get moody about if you forget on a trip away and cry when they finally run out. Let’s start with my favourite product ever.
*Vita Liberata Body Blur £30 here
First of all, if you know me, there is no way you haven’t heard me harp on about this brand. I’ve blogged about their Phenomenal tanning mousse before here which is a great long-lasting tan for everyday but the Body Blur will take your tan to a whole new level. Great for holidays and special occasions, I don’t use this as my base tan but I apply it over my fake tan in various areas (shoulders, cleavage, décolletage, vertically down the middle of the thighs) to add depth and shimmer. There was so much hype around this product that I did fear it wouldn’t live up to my expectations but this is now something I will always have in my beauty cabinet for when I want to be all golden and shimmery. I have two words. Stockpile. Immediately.
Bare Minerals Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion Serum £45 here
Who knew that Bare Minerals did skincare? This incredible serum puts every other serum I’ve ever tried in the shade even if it does have a ridiculously long name. I picked up a sample of this thanks to my Harvey Nichols reward app and I’ll be first in line to buy the full size version when it runs out even though the full size is a whopping £45 *sobs*. This teeny tiny sample has pretty much changed my life and brought with it countless complements on my complexion. *blushes*
*The Body Shop Tea Tree 3 in 1 Wash. Scrub. Mask £8 here
It takes a lot to tempt me away from my oh so precious Liz Earle cleanse and polish but if you want a more affordable option or you are simply quite sick of rinsing out and drying muslin cloths, this could put a very big smile on your freshly washed face. This is a great little product to pack for trips away as it’s super calming for the skin and keeps post flight breakouts in check but it is the ultimate space saving beauty buy. This formula can be used as a wash, a scrub or a mask and I recently packed it in on our anniversary staycation to the Lakes. Very handy indeed and it’s only 8 pounds. *applauds*
*Transformulas Marine miracle Night Repair Serum £41.95 here
There simply aren’t enough hours in the day for me to sit worrying about those ever increasing lines on my forehead and wait are those crows feet? Luckily, I was sent this fab little night serum that reactivates skin cell structure to promote a younger complexion. Anything that makes me look younger while I sleep is a winner in my book. This product is from Transformula’s Marine Miracle range and it is blue which I quite like. It contains marine algae and I use it on both my face and neck at night. Cue: Brighter/tighter skin upon waking.
*Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre £16 here
Am I the only one who had never heard of the cult French brand Embryolisse until now? This is the brand’s hero product and one of these tubes sells out every 60 seconds. If that wasn’t enough, Karlie Kloss sings its praises and Gwyneth Paltrow named this as her beauty secret. I was sold. It’s unscented and quite rich so I tend to slather it on before bed after cleansing and let it sink in overnight. I have to say that after using this French pharmacy moisturiser for a month, I’m totally converted even if the packaging isn’t the prettiest. It’s usually around £20 to buy but Feel Unique have it discounted at £16. You’re welcome ladies.
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder £29 here Brush £24.50 here
I was reluctant to even feature this as I’m fairly sure that I am the only person on the planet who hadn’t bought/tried this until a month ago. After falling into the hole that is YouTube beauty tutorials I finally took the plunge and bought it along with the exciting feathery fan brush and it really is a game changer. I’ve never used a loose powder before, in fact I’ve only ever used a compressed Rimmel powder (retro I know) so I didn’t know what to expect but actually it just provides a shine free complexion faster than you can say pass me the blotting pads. Oh and the matching brush makes me feel pretty professional which I also love.
Benefit Gimmie Brow £18.50 here
A game changer should be truly incredible and this product has really helped me up my brow game. I’ve never ever used a product on my brows as every one I’ve tried was too heavy for my fair skin/hair. If you are blonde like me, Gimmie Brow no1 is just the right shade to give you the definition you need without going overboard. This has become part of my everyday makeup routine and I couldn’t recommend it more if you struggle with defining fair brows.
Have you tried any of these products? What are your beauty game changers?
