If you follow my Instagram, you will be very pleased to know I have now returned from our Maldivian honeymoon and the barrage of pina colada/sun/sea/sand pictures are finally over. After 4 delicious days in Dubai and 7 days of islandy paradise, we have returned and I can’t wait to share with you the delights of Kuramathi Island.
The Maldives was all I ever dreamed of and more and I can’t think of a more romantic honeymoon destination. When we booked our trip to the Maldives, I was slightly worried that we might get bored of laying on the beach. I mean Island life is all about relaxation and after four jam packed days in Dubai, a four hour flight and a 15 minute sea plane journey, I couldn’t be happier that 7 days of doing nothing stretched out ahead of us. The truth is, some things that you hear about the Maldives aren’t actually that accurate. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied from boat trips and snorkelling to paddle-boarding and sea safaris.
Or you can while away the hours in the spa. One of the biggest decisions to make when booking a holiday to the Maldives is choosing the perfect type of accommodation. Having stayed on this island, I have to say there are no bad options. We chose a jacuzzi water villa and it definitely had the wow factor. Waking up to stunning sea views was a dream come true and it had a very exclusive feel. It is wise to note that it isn’t the quietest location on the island (the beach villas on the other side of the island were a lot more peaceful) and the sound of the waves hitting the base of the villa can get a bit loud when the sea is choppy. However, having your own private sun deck totally makes up for this.

Shopping for a holiday wardrobe in November isn’t the easiest of tasks. Luckily there are a few online stores that stock exceptional vacation pieces all year round. Beach Cafe is your online destination for luxury beachwear with everything from beautiful kaftans to bikinis.
The best thing about the Maldives is that the dress code is so relaxed. All you need are a few maxi dresses for the evenings and bikinis and cover ups for the days.

A lot of people have asked about the weather as November can be a tricky time to visit. As you can see from the photos, the weather was beautiful and tipped 32 degrees during our stay. We had a couple of tropical storms but these lasted minutes causing minimum disruption to our precious sun worshipping time. November is a great time to visit the Maldives as you get to escape the miserable British weather and swap pouring rain for paradise.
Have you been to the Maldives? Which island did you visit?
It looks like you had such a lovely trip! Beautiful photos as always Remie x
