Nothing puts a dampener on a day date more than a thirty minute debate about what to do and where to go. Spending quality time together should be relaxed and easygoing yet fun and spontaneous. However, finding new and exciting date spots is easier said than done especially if like me, you are getting married soon and can’t just while away the hours eating cake. So, I thought I’d share my favourite date ideas (cake and non cake related) with you in a blog post. Don’t forget to leave me a comment with your favourite date spots too.
Not on a diet? There are plenty of places to have tea and eat cake. My favourite rainy day date spots are Lightcliffe Tearooms (best. cheesecake. ever) Balterzens in Harrogate for waffles, Bettys tea room for afternoon tea, Salts Diner in Saltaire for milkshakes and Love Rouge Bakery for cupcakes.
One of my favourite things to do in summer is to pack a bottle of bubbles and some tasty treats and bask in the sunshine with a picnic (and my favourite person). Puppy optional. I’m really lucky to have a number of beautiful picnic spots right on my doorstep including Roundhay Park, Golden Acre Park and Valley Gardens in Harrogate. Not only can you nibble on delicious food and sip champers, this is the perfect excuse to invest in some pretty picnic accessories from Fortnums. Professional picnickers can invest in one of their beautiful picnic hampers and stuff it to the brim with whatever you wish or lazy couples can just pick up a ready made one filled with Fortnums treats.
If you don’t want to spend your day lazying around in the park watching the world go by, why not get active? I had no idea how much there is to do in my city until I started looking for unique date ideas that didn’t revolve around food. If you are stuck for active ideas, try out experience days with In to the Blue and book an experience that will get your heart racing. Go hot air ballooning, go karting or zorbing.
If you’ve tried your hand and at all of those, head to your local zoo for a day of fun. Lions and tigers and bears oh my! Where are your favourite date spots? Leave me a note in the comments!
