I enjoy cooking about as much as I enjoy bikini waxes. However, with married life on the horizon, it’s about time I learned the art of entertaining. I’m no domestic goddess but I have managed to perfect the art of making pies. I love a good dinner party theme so a couple of weeks ago we had friends over and I combined two of my favourite things with a Pie and Prosecco night. Pie is an easy peasy dinner party option and it’s perfect if you have big mouths to feed. Here’s a lazy girl’s guide to dinner party perfection.
Mini prosecco bottles from Waitrose are perfect for dinner parties and it means you can keep washing up to a minimum simply by adding a straw!
To host your own pie and prosecco night you will need:
- Mini bottles of Prosecco (Waitrose)
- Jus Rol Shortcrust Pastry
- Pie filling
- A pie dish
- Cute napkins optional (here)
I’d love to take all the credit for the success of the night but the truth is I had a little help.
The Hairy Biker’s Perfect Pies cook book is my secret weapon. Its recipes will help you whip up the ultimate pie in no time. It holds the secret to perfectly cooked pastry, deliciously decadent fillings and most importantly pretty decoration ideas.
This is the lazy girl’s guide to pies so don’t worry about making your own pastry from scratch. I’m a huge fan of Jus Rol. Simply leave to defrost and roll to the desired thickness with a rolling pin. Don’t have a cookbook? The Jus Rol team have plenty of pie recipes to complement the summer season.
