*Makeup bag by Sew Lomax £25 Is anyone else getting a little excited about autumn? Cosy blankets, cups of frothy hot chocolate and cashmere bed socks are just a few of the things I’m looking forward to as we get closer to the colder months. Autumn is a great excuse to update your makeup bag and I can’t wait to share with you the new additions that are tucked away in mine for the season ahead. Firstly, how cute is this makeup bag? It’s pretty and practical and I love the light lemon shade. So much attention to detail goes into each and every design and if you want to get your hands on your very own Sew Lomax makeup bag, you can use this discount code: stitching5 to get 25% off. Beauty Lab Skin Perfecting Moisture Cream from Beauty Lab at Harvey Nichols £40 Another sparkly new addition for the season ahead and just look at that packaging. As summer ends, I tend to mix it up when it comes to face moisturisers as my skin requires more protection from the elements. This particular product contains anti-aging collagen tripeptide microspheres that are designed to hydrate your skin and leave it feeling dewy and glowing. I have no idea what tripeptide means either but I can confirm the dewy and glowing part. Elizabeth Multi Targeted BB Cream at Feel Unique £17 (nails by Koko Beauty) Next up is the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference BB Cream AKA my favourite base right now. This is actually the first BB cream that I’ve worn instead of a foundation and I’m head over heals in love. I first saw this product featured in a Vlog by blogger In The Frow and from that moment on I had to have it. I think it’s this tutorial here. (Don’t blame me if you get sucked in to this YouTube channel, I could watch In The Frow’s YouTube videos for hours). This product means I don’t have to use my cripplingly expensive Chanel foundation on days where I’m not really doing much. It also gives my foundation a little more staying power which makes it a worthy investment in my book. It’s perfect for those occasions that require minimal makeup and adds just the right amount of dewy finish to your complexion. I bought shade one which is perfect for my fair skintone. Small Tapered powder brush by Blank Canvas Cosmetics £11 Once I’ve got my foundation in place, I like to use a high quality brush to highlight and contour. Blank Canvas Cosmetics is a brand I discovered at the Etail PR blog event last week. I picked one of these sculpting makeup brushes up in the gifting suite and I’ve been using it to contour all week. The super soft bristles glide over your skin to provide the perfect powder applicator. Seventeen Pink Bronze Rocks from Boots £4.99 In other news, I’ve found a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick dupe! It comes in the form of bronzing rocks. Can you think of a better way to welcome autumn that with a box of bronzing rocks? I picked this product up in Boots last week and I’m obsessed with the subtle shimmery glow. You can use it to highlight areas you want to shimmer and shine for example the contours of your cheeks, your cleavage and a dusting on your shoulders adds instant definition. I don’t usually use this brand but this new collection from Seventeen caught my eye as the range itself was packed with a variety of beautiful bronzing products. Rather than grabbing the whole range, I opted to try out this one as I was totally sold by the idea of bronzing rocks. The product comes in two shades but I love the hint of pink that comes in this cute box. My makeup bag will be constantly stocked with this over the A/W period. I’m so impressed with this product especially as it’s a budget beauty buy. I can’t live without my dry shampoo and Batiste is one brand that will forever be in my weekly beauty rotation. So you can imagine my delight when I picked up this little makeup sized beauty at the Etail PR blog event. Did I mention it’s cherry scented? Estee Lauder minis are a welcome addition to anyone’s makeup bag as they are packed with powerful lotions that are guaranteed to perk up tired skin. There is one for your morning beauty regime and one for nightime. I slather on the night repair serum before I moisturise on an evening and wake up to baby soft skin. The little green pot is a skin perfecter and looks like more of a sheer foundation than a clear serum. Both are perfect to pop in your makeup bag when you jet off on your travels. These came in a gift set courtesy of my BFF. The full size ones retail at around £40 to £69 and can be found here and here. So, there you go, a peek into my A/W makeup bag.
