We spent the bank holiday weekend with two of our favourite people exploring some of London’s tastiest spots and we kicked off our trip with a visit to The Breakfast Club in Hoxton. I have to be honest with you, I’ve never really wanted to be in any kind of club but this is one club I’m happy to be associated with. Brunch is my absolute favourite meal and this little yellow cafe has everything you could ever wish for and more. Inside you’ll find smiley faces, hearty portions, healthy juices and a kick ass playlist.
The boys opted for the full monty (basically a full English) while the girls indulged in buttery soft pancakes smothered with maple syrup, vanilla cream and a few token berries. Totally worth the calories.
Hands down the best pancakes I’ve eaten outside of the USA. In fact, the portion was so filling that the third one defeated me and I begrudgingly handed it over to my Fiance who willingly took it off my hands. Perfection in pancake form. The truth is, while I was perfectly happy with my pancakes, I had a serious case of food envy. My eyes kept being drawn to passing plates of smoked salmon and avocado not to mention the chorizo hashbrowns and the bacon and banana french toast. You can check out the other delights on the brunch menu here.
The coffee is Fairtrade but it’s not a patch on the freshly squeezed orange juice. For best results mix it with a dash (or a bottle) of Prosecco. There’s no better way to start a Saturday afternoon. 10.50am is a totally acceptable time to drink Prosecco right? The atmosphere at The Breakfast Club is what really sets it apart from the other places in London. It’s lively but laid back making it the type of place where you can while away the hours catching up with friends. There are four Breakfast Clubs in and around London, the original one is located in Soho and something tells me I’ll be paying a visit when I’m next in town.
POP FIZZ CLINK. My favourite bank holiday Saturday sounds…
Have you been to The Breakfast Club?
