Gusto is the ultimate date night spot. Chic cocktails, *tick* fairy lights, *tick* and chocolate pizza *tick*. Could you ask for anything more? Gusto is the kind of place where you can while away the hours sipping delicious cocktails safe in the knowledge that food will be phenomenal. Girls will love the romantic setting and guys will love that the menu has plenty of ‘man food’ options. We opted for one of the new cocktails called Passion at Deaths Door. It boasts one of my favourite ingredients ever, Cassis. I’m definitely going to try to recreate this little beauty at home.
As usual we ordered too much food. I went for the brushetta with avocado and tomato which I could quite happily live on for the rest of time. S opted for a starter portion of lasagne which was inhaled in just under 3 seconds before swiftly moving on to the garlic pizza bread.
If you can’t choose between cheese or tomato garlic bread, why not have half and half? No one’s judging! What would an Italian meal be without a pasta dish?
Just look at that steak! Delish! Now on to the best bit of any date night.
Dessert! The Eton Mess was delightful and words can’t even begin to explain how good the nutella and mascarpone calzone was.
We finished off the evening with an espresso martini. The perfect end to a perfect evening. One of my favourite things about Gusto are the people. Our waiter was lovely, he not only helped me pick out the perfect cocktail but he even showed me a thing or two about photographing them! What do you think?
Have you been to Gusto in Cookridge? Don’t live in Leeds? There is also a Gusto in Liverpool, Newcastle and Edinburgh as well as other delightful locations should you crave their Nutella calzone.
Woah. This food looks amazing. That Nutella dessert is on my list of things to try.
