I have spent this week adding a touch of sparkle to every room in my house but I’m most proud of my entrance. I chose a gold colour theme as I think you can’t beat metallics for a contemporary Christmas feel and this inspired the pieces I’ve chosen to include in my collage. The art of creating a welcoming entrance requires a little time and effort but the end results are totally worth it.
Start with your door. A festive wreath is the first thing I invested in this year and I think it adds an instant welcoming feel to your home. A doormat is of course essential to make your guests feel at home and it prevents any mud or leaves being trampled through your home. Turtle Mats are the most amazing mats out there. They soak up all of the moisture from your shoes which is ideal when the weather worsens. They make great gifts for country bumpkins who have to spend ages wiping off their mud clad wellies before they can go inside.
If you have a sideboard or a cabinet in your hallway, this is the perfect platform to showcase sparkly accessories during Christmas. I’ve hung oversized snowflakes from the ceiling and added festive figurines like the glittery present boxes above. A candle will not only enhance your display but scent your home at the same time. Complete your entrance décor with a gorgeous gold garland. Voila!
