I’ve just arrived back from a weekend in Edinburgh and after careful consideration have decided it should be my new home. The last 48 hours has been a whirlwind of raspberry flavoured mojitos and Missoni prints ending in a cupcake induced slumber.
Planning a trip to Edinburgh? Here are my do’s and don’ts:
Don’t miss your train: I am the queen of late and disorganised and by the time our train had left the platform, I had already nearly missed it by attempting to buy a second breakfast and lost my train ticket somewhere between the barrier and my seat. Then there was the panic when I realised I’d forgotten my passport. Turns out you don’t need it to go to Scotland. Anyhoo, the day got better from here and we popped open a bottle of bubbles to celebrate our success of making it on time.

Do Visit The Chocolate Lounge
When you just need a fondue…
Those of you who read my blog regularly will know that nothing gets me more excited that a cupcake or two. Well, apart from cupcakes on a conveyor belt. The Chocolate Lounge is a chocolate lover’s dream and it’s the perfect place to put down your shopping bags for a well earned rest. Pink glittery cupcakes teeter on a conveyor belt accompanied by gleaming plastic goblets of Jelly Beans, gooey brownies and mini bottles of Harvey Nichols pink champagne. Located on the Fourth Floor of Harvey Nichols, The Chocolate Lounge is a mini catwalk for sweet treats of every kind and is the perfect place for a spot of afternoon indulgence.

Do Stop By the Shu Uemura Lash Bar
Lashes are the route to supreme happiness…
Until this weekend I was a lash virgin. I just didn’t get it. The thought of putting false eyelashes on for a night out has never occurred to me in the past simply because I can’t put them on and have a deep routed fear of ending up with one stuck on my forehead. Turns out they are pretty fabulous and if you ask nicely, the lovely team at Shu Uemura will help you pick out the best lashes to suit your eye shape and size. I chose long black fluttery ones but next time I’m going to be braver and opt for the silver ones.
